Established to provide CHSS faculty with opportunities for continued, convenient, and compelling professional development, the CHSS Faculty Development Series offers lectures, workshops, small groups, and other events in support of all areas of faculty work, including teaching, research and creative activity, and service to the university. Ideas or suggestions from faculty for future events are welcome. Please send your comments and suggestions to the Associate Dean for Academic Support.

Join us for a discussion of the chapters 5, 6, and 7 of Teach Students How to Learn by Saundra McGuire.

Are you interested in learning new strategies to improve students’ motivation, study skills, and metacognition? If so, please consider joining the 2017-18 CHSS Faculty Development Series Book Group. Over the course of this academic year, the book group will read and discuss Teach Students How to Learn by Saundra McGuire. Dr. McGuire recently visited KSU, speaking with students, faculty, and administrators about these learning strategies. The CHSS book group will meet together four times during this academic year (October, November, February, and March).
